Kicking off this series of product features, I wanted to take a minute to talk about the Guardian collection and how they came to be.
The Guardians hold a very special place in my heart. They were created out of a time of grief after I made the decision to end my French Bulldog, Enzo's, suffering. It was by far one of the hardest decisions I've had to make in my adult life. He was my little buddy, my king and by my side for nearly 12 years. He was incredibly special, brightened every room we walked into, was apart of every conversation and melted the heart of everyone he met. Saying goodbye seemed inconceivable. But necessary.
After he passed away last September, I needed to do something special to honor him, his personality and spirit. I didn't just want an urn. He deserved so much more. I had been working on another series of vessels that were inspired by brutalist water towers, our original Tower Planter.
That initial idea became the foundation for the Guardian. Taking it a step further I decided to enclose the piece. I then separated the capsule from the base, creating a trio of vessels that when stacked created the enclosed form that could both hold his ashes and be removed from the base to allow me to keep flowers next to him.
It was the perfect way to eulogize him. He loved being elevated, sitting on a chair next to you as if he were participating in the conversation.
Introducing, the Guardians, my homage to Enzo, my buddy, my king.
